Alarmed by the gradual disappearance of the meadowlark from his local countryside, James Eggert began to examine the economic and ecological factors at work. His investigation soon led him to explore alternatives to our traditional views of both economics and our place in the world. These alternative visions, informed by what he calls "meadowlark values," recognize our need to live in sustainable harmony with the environment. Far from a reproachful litany of dire preditions, Meadolwark Economics is refeshingly hopeful, inspiring and ultimately celebratory.
